The late Sungura legend Tongai Moyo’s mother, Ambuya Esther Mhurai Zengeya, popularly known as Gogo Chihera, has died aged 94.
According to the family spokesperson and grandson, Obert Moyo, Gogo Chihera died at her rural home in Zhombe, Sosombe, Village 6.
She had been battling asthma, among other health complications.
“Gogo had been ill for quite some time, and she also had asthma.
“We are very saddened by her death as she was a pillar of strength within the Moyo family and the Zhombe community, where she was widely respected for her wisdom.”
Mourners are gathered in Zhombe.
Moyo said funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.-Herald
