In a suspected case of rituals, a Gokwe woman injected a 10-year-old girl to drain blood.
The 33-year-old, Mavis Sibanda, was arrested on May 26 before she was brought before the court.
Mavis was charged with assault in aggravating circumstances.
She pleaded guilty before she was sentenced to two years in prison.
The woman pleaded with the court that she had children to look after.
However, the presiding magistrate considered that she committed a serious offence.
It was proved that Mavis committed assault involving the draining of blood from a 10-year-old juvenile.
The case occurred in Gokwe Town on 26 May 2025 at around 10 am.
She was at her marketplace in Gokwe town where she is a vendor.
She called a 10-year-old girl who was passing by and injected her with a needle.
