Freeman HKD rides high after festival

Zimdaily Journal Reporter

Zimdancehall musician Freeman HKD is still basking in the success of the third edition of the HKD Festival.

Freeman described the festival as a dream that started with conversations among his team a few years ago but has since grown into a major event.

Taking to social media after the festival at Glamis Arena in Harare, Freeman, born Energy Sylvester Chizanga expressed joy at how far the idea had come.

“What started as a conversation between me and my team a few years ago had amounted to this! To just see where our thoughts and conversations have taken us, it’s crazy,” he said.

The festival came shortly after the release of his latest album, Peace, which is now available on streaming platforms.

Freeman also announced the release of the official music video for Budirwa on YouTube, urging fans to check out the visuals as he continues promoting the project.

The album explores themes drawn from life experiences, with the musician highlighting the importance of peace in individuals, communities and countries.

Its release ahead of the festival gave fans another opportunity to connect with his latest musical offering.

After a busy festival weekend Freeman said he would take a short break before launching the Peace album tour in Kariba this coming weekend.
