A 64-year-old man from Hwange has been fined for bashing his wife, who had followed him while he was in his girlfriend’s bedroom.
He appeared before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court facing physical abuse charges.
He was sentenced to pay a US$200 fine or three months’ imprisonment in default of payment.
In addition, three months were wholly suspended for 5 years.
On April 17 at around 9 pm, the victim followed her husband from his workplace to his girlfriend’s residence.
When he entered his girlfriend’s bedroom, she stormed in.
This angered the offender, who became violent and struck the complainant all over the body.
He further dragged her outside, where he further assaulted her with booted feet.
