An Inter Africa bus driver was arrested along with his conductor for unlawful possession of unregistered medicines.
The incident occurred on April 29, when Johannes Marange (55) and Kelvin Rufayi (30) were intercepted.
“The medicines comprised Asfra Pain Syrup, Broncleer Cough Syrup, and Adco Salterpyn Cough Syrup with a street value of US$ 18,380,” said police in a statement.
Police also confirmed that a passenger, Patsten Kureya (34), who was aboard a Blue Circle bus, was arrested for smuggling beer.
“On the same day, at the 269 kilometre peg along Harare–Chirundu Road, the suspect had the beer stashed in drums.”
