A drunk security guard reportedly killed a woman who had resisted his sexual demands.
Lloyd Mutsengi (50), allegedly reported for duty drunk at the mine and was denied duty.
He then stole a shotgun, which he used to threaten the victims.
Police confirmed in a statement on their X account.
“The ZRP is investigating heinous cases of murder and rape which occurred on 14/04/25 at a mining company in Matobo.
“A security guard reported for duty drunk at the mine and was denied duty.
“In response, the suspect allegedly stole a shotgun rifle from a co-worker and confronted two women.
“He threatened to rape the victims before shooting one of the them dead, after she resisted.
“The suspect went on to sexually abuse the other victim before fleeing the scene.
“The suspect is on the run.
“Anyone with information to report to their nearest Police Station.”
