…jailed 15 years impregnanting
A Harare man has been thrown behind bars for 15 years after he raped his own 14-year-old daughter.
He appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court where he was sentenced.
The 41-year-old man repeatedly raped his 14-year-old daughter.
The incidents took place between April and December 2024 in Waterfalls, Harare.
The court heard that the father lured his daughter to a nearby River, where he proposed a romantic relationship.
He sexually assaulted her despite her refusal.
He threatened to kill her if she disclosed the abuse.
The assaults continued multiple times, including during the absence of his wife, who is the victim’s stepmother.
The matter came to light when the victim revealed her pregnancy to her grandmother, initially claiming it was caused by a boyfriend.
