A fight over a woman turned nasty after a man struck his rival with a machete.
Razane Muyambo (42) ended up in hot soup after he had a physical fight with Robert Mtisi over a woman, Tafadzwa Makuyana.
The incident occurred in Chipinde.
Razane who resides at Green Valley Chipinge was brought before the Chipinge Magistrates’ Court facing attempted murder charges.
He was remanded in custody to February, 13 for his interim remand.
According to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA), allegations are that on February 4, at Mbuya Mtisi Homestead in Green Valley Chipinge, Razane went to meet his girlfriend, Tafadzwa.
Approximately two hours later, Robert, who is also romantically involved with Tafadzwa, arrived at the scene.
A confrontation ensued between the two men, escalating into a physical altercation.
During the fight, Robert picked up stones and struck the accused person.
In retaliation, Razane grabbed a machete and struck him three times on the head, causing severe injuries.
The complainant collapsed.
The girlfriend, Tafadzwa screamed for help, prompting the accused person to flee the scene, leaving the complainant injured and bleeding.
The complainant was rushed to Mt Selinda Hospital, where he remains admitted.
