GWERU– A man suspected of killing his girlfriend, who was a student teacher at Guinea Fowl High School in Gweru, has been found dead in a state of decomposition.
According to the Midlands police Valentine Tamuka Zireva, 27, committed suicide shortly after the January 24, killing of Keener Tsanana.
Keenar was a student teacher on attachment from Mkoba Teachers College.
Midlands Province police spokesman Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.
“Police are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 27-year-old man whose body was found in a bush area at Beacon Kop, Shurugwi on 3 February 2025.
“The man was on Police wanted list following the murder of a Guinea Fowl Female teacher who was believed to be his girlfriend.
“Investigations established the body to be that of Valentine a student teacher who was on attachment at Guinea Fowl High School.
“On February, 3 at about 9 am a passerby discovered a dead body under a tree at Beacon Kop, Shurugwi.
“The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition and there was a bark string tied to a tree above where the body was,” he said.
Zireva was last seen on January 24, in the company of Keener at Guinea Fowl High School.
Keener was found dead in a room at the school the following morning. Zireva was not seen until he was also found dead.
