Miss Universe Zimbabwe queen, Sakhile Dube who was in Mexico for the competition feels, that her presence at the prestigious event is a sign of recognition of the country.
She feels proud of Zimbabwe.
“We should take this opportunity as a chance for us to grow as an industry in Zimbabwe
“I am ready for my experience, my story, knowledge and to use my voice and inspire other women.
“Thank you for showing us the spirit of unity and support. We couldn’t have done it without the support.”
She also thanked, Miss Universe Zimbabwe Patron and board chairperson, Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga for the support.
“She made sure, I didn’t lack anything. Thank you Zimbabwe and I am so excited, the world now knows about Zimbabwe, this is our moment.”
Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga also hailed the support they got.
“Everything was perfect, thank you so much Zimbabwe, Africa. We are celebrating incredible achievement that Sakhile made in Mexico.
“She got a place in the top 30, which we do not take for granted.
“We celebrate with pride being in the top 30, which also marks the revival of the pageant in Zimbabwe.
“She was carrying Zimbabwe, every girl child on her shoulders.
“We are so proud, we were there and with the feedback, we are getting, we thought she was going to be in the top 12.
“We hope she will not give up, talent scouters were there and they talked about Zimbabwe’s talent.
“The good thing, everybody now knows about Zimbabwe,” she said.
Miss Universe Director, Tendai Hunda said.
“We managed to bring the world together. I don’t take it lightly that our Patron had a busy schedule but she went with us to Mexico.
“Sakhile stood out and we are proud of that.”
