PICA partners Little Mr & Miss Africa to host girl child picnic celebrations

Harare, Zimbabwe – Precious Children’s Arts Organisation (PICA) has partnered with Little Mr and Miss Africa to host the first-ever “Colours of Her Future: Girl Child Picnic Celebration”.

The celebrations are set for November 2, at Zimbabwe Germany Society in Milton Park.

PICA founder and director, Chipo Basopo Chindungwe confirmed the development:

“This celebration is part of the International Day of the Girl Child, where we want to honour young girls aged 10 to 18, empowering them through interactive activities and motivational sessions.

“The event aligns with this year’s global theme, “Elevating Girls’ Voices for Sustainable Development,” and aims to create a safe, fun, and colourful space where girls can express themselves and dream big for the future.

“Girls from various schools and groups will participate, each group selecting a unique colour to represent through their outfits and a creative, colour-themed picnic basket.

“The event will feature inspiring power talks from influential women, fun activities like a colour parade, karaoke sessions, and interactive games, all fostering creativity, leadership, and connection among the girls.

“We want to celebrate the power, potential, and creativity of every girl attending. This is not just a day to reflect on the challenges girls face, but a moment to uplift their voices, inspire their dreams, and celebrate their future.”

She is thankful for some partners.

“I want to thank Zimbabwe Germany Society, Prodairy, One World Theatre Company, EarGround Africa and individual friends like the Boss Tafadzwa Zimoyo, youth interactive writer Latwell Nyangu who have supported this year’s girls celebration.

“This event will provide a unique platform for girls to engage with role models, learn from each other, and showcase their talents in a supportive environment.”

PICA is a Zimbabwe-based organisation committed to promoting the arts, culture, and development of children through creative, educational, and entertaining programmes.

The organisation seeks to provide platforms for children to showcase their artistic talents while nurturing their leadership and life skills
