The Chinhoyi High Court has granted bail to former Chegutu West MP Dexter Nduna for violating local government by-laws.
Nduna was previously remanded in custody by the Chegutu Magistrates Court on fraud charges after illegally collecting vehicle parking fees in Chegutu.
It is alleged that Nduna misled motorists by claiming that a company associated with him, Team Chapter, was responsible for collecting vehicle parking fees on behalf of the Chegutu Municipality.
In remanding Nduna in custody on 15 October 2024, Magistrate Amanda Chamisa indicated that the state had a strong case against the accused.
Nduna has paid a US$200 bail and will appear at the Chegutu Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 29 October 2024.
Nduna is currently the Chairman of Zanu Pf’s Resources and Mobilisation Committee
