A Gwanda man has been jailed for 20 years after he raped and impregnated his daughter.
The 36-year-old appeared before the Gwanda Magistrates’ Court on rape charges.
He is a father to the 15-year-old complainant.
Sometime in February this year, the accused person took advantage of his wife’s absence and proceeded to the complainant’s bedroom.
The complainant was sleeping with her twin sister.
The accused got into the complainant’s blankets and used his hand to close her mouth.
He removed her clothes and raped her.
The complainant did not disclose the matter to anyone.
The matter came to light when the Police received a tip-off to the effect that the complainant was pregnant.
Investigations led to the arrest of the accused person.
The accused was convicted and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
