A 28-year-old Tsholotsho woman has been jailed for 18 months effective for stabbing her boyfriend for changing music.
The woman was initially slapped with a 24-month jail term of which 6 months were suspended for 5 years on condition of good behaviour.
She will serve 18 months effectively.
The accused appeared before Tsholotsho Magistrates’ Court facing charges of physical abuse.
On May, 21 at around 9 pm, the accused and the complainant were at home when an altercation arose between the two.
The argument arose when the accused asked for the complainant’s mobile phone which she intended to use for light.
The complainant handed over the phone and advised her not to change the music that was playing on the phone.
It was proved that the accused changed the music and the complainant took the phone from her.
This did not go well with the accused person who stabbed him in the head using a kitchen knife.
The complainant sustained a cut on the head and the ear.
