Actor Ruben Zhiva has passed away after battling bladder cancer.
Ruben reportedly tried to source funds to get treatment, but all his efforts were in vain.
One of his producers, Masimba Mashingaidze, said that while he was looking for financial assistance, he was discharged from Nazareth Hospital.
“He was told by the medical team that they couldn’t operate on him because his condition had deteriorated.
“Rubean was a good actor who was committed and punctual.
“He was also a marvel to watch when he would execute his acting tricks.
“We will dearly miss him,” he said.
The comedian is survived by his wife, Sinikiwe Kademaunga, and one child.
He featured in Guchurenhapitapi as Baba Ruva.
Reuben and Sinikiwe’s love story charmed many Zimbabweans after their marriage in 2021.
The couple was later blessed with a son.
A fundraising campaign launched in June 2026 stated that Reuben had developed a growth in his bladder and required urgent surgery, with the campaign raising funds towards his medical care and the needs of his young family.
