Twelve people have been killed in a road accident in less than five days.
The latest accidents occurred on Monday where five people were killed along Harare-Nyamapanda Highway and three others were killed along Gweru-Zvishavane road.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on Monday at around 2pm at the 101 km peg along the Harare–Nyamapanda Road.
“Five people were killed, while nine others sustained injuries when an Isuzu D-Max vehicle with one passenger on board was involved in a head on collision with another Isuzu D-Max vehicle with 14 passengers on board.”
The accident follows another which occurred at the 80 kilometre peg along Gweru- Zvishavane Road yesterday at around 9 am.
Three people were killed when a shackman truck was involved in a head on collision with an AD Van.
On July 23, three Highlanders club executives and a supporter also perished in a road accident.
The club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, his deputy Fiso Siziba, treasurer Nkani Khoza and supporter Mbalenhle Sibanda were buried on Monday.
