A Zvishavane man told his daughter to be his wife before he raped her.
For the offence, the man appeared before the Zvishavane Magistrates’ Court, where he was convicted and jailed for 20 years, effective from the date of sentencing.
The 53-year-old man raped his 16-year-old daughter.
In February 2026, the offender arrived home drunk and told the victim that he wanted her to be his wife.
During the same month, he also told the victim that he wanted to sleep with her.
He further threatened her with a knife he took from his satchel.
The offender used the victim’s T-shirt to cover her mouth and raped her.
From that day, the offender raped the victim on many different occasions.
The matter came to light after a tip-off, which led to the subsequent arrest of the offender.
