Imagine being set free under the Presidential Amensty and only to commit a spate of rape cases on several women.
Gabriel Pokani, has been on a raping spree, terrorising villagers and unsuspecting women in Serima area of Gutu.
He has been on the run for a long time, escaping police and villagers.
He was staying in the bush.
He got arrested today in Dondodema by headman Maotsa with the assistance of villagers.
“Finally, the person who raped more than 10 women and girls within a month in our area, Gutu, Serima, has been caught today after a chase by police and community members.
“He was released by Presidential Amnesty last month, and he has resumed the same actions that led to his previous jail sentence.
“Individuals facing serious criminal charges should not be released.
“There should be proper vetting before releasing some of these criminals,” said a source.
