Zimbabweans based in South Africa have been given advice by a fellow Zimbabwean who has stayed in the country for many years.
Moreboys Munetsi, who is an entrepreneur and businessman, runs GreatHope Funeral Services, which plays a big part in the repatriation of many Zimbabweans dying across Limpopo.
However, Munetsi, who has stayed in SA for years, has witnessed many cases of murder where Zimbabweans are killed after confrontations, arguments, and fights with South Africans.
Posting on his Facebook Page, the vibrant Munetsi said, Zimbabweans should behave well to avoid unnecessary deaths.
‘We are visitors in South Africa.
“We live, work, and raise families here under the hospitality of South Africans.
“Musha hausi wedu. Tiri vashanyi.
“Respect the home we are in, pay rent, follow the law, don’t litter, don’t fight in the streets.
“Respect the people, and South Africans owe us nothing, yet many employ us, rent to us, sit with us in a taxi.
“Say thank you. Greet. Don’t insult. Don’t look down on locals. Pride + hunger is a bad mix.
“We came to work, school, survive, and build. Not to claim land. Not to fight locals. Make money, send home, stay out of crime. Our kids are watching.
“If you feel unwelcome, act twice as respectful,” he said.
Munetsi further said, arguments don’t win visas, but character does.
“The quiet Zimbo who pays, works, and respects neighbors gets helped first.
“South Africa is not Zimbabwe. We don’t vote here. We don’t make rules here.
“We are guests.
“Guests who respect the house get invited back. Guests who break cups get chased.
“Ngatichengetedzei zita reZimbabwe.
“Ngatiremekedzei vene vemusha.
“Tinovaka. Hatiparadzi. Tinotenda.
“Nyika yedu ichanaka one day,God will hear our prayers.
“Let’s keep on praying. God will definitely protect our families and us.”
