Police have confirmed an aircraft crash that claimed the life of one person in Masvingo.
In a statement, police national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the crash occurred on March 15, at around 11 am at Nyoka Village, Zaka, Masvingo Province.

“One person was killed while another person was injured when an aircraft carrying two occupants crashed before being engulfed by fire.

“The aircraft, which was travelling from Komani Aerodrome in Mt Hampden, Harare to Chipinda Pools, had reportedly developed a mechanical fault and began emitting an unusual sound.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police and relevant authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. More details will be released in due course.
