RUSAPE- A Rusape woman died after she was stabbed after an altercation over an electricity bill.
The deceased, Dorothy Matongo was stabbed by Kundai Thandezile, 26.
For that reason, Kundai was brought before Rusape Magistrates Court and charged with murder.
She was remanded in custody to May 24, for her trial.
Allegations are that, Kundai stabbed her husband’s sister in a dispute arising from an electricity bill.
It is alleged that on May 8, Kundai, and the now deceased Dorothy were at home in Vengere, Rusape.
The duo had an altercation over the electricity bill.
The altercation escalated into a physical fight wherein the accused person went back to her room.
She then returned holding a kitchen knife and stabbed the now-deceased once on the upper left side of the chest.
The now-deceased walked for a few metres before she fell.
She was bleeding profusely from the chest.
The accused person threatened to stab the now deceased’s daughter as she was trying to stem the bleeding with her t-shirt.
The now deceased’s daughter ran to get help.
The accused further stabbed the deceased on the back of her left shoulder.
She did this after she noticed that the now deceased’s daughter was returning with other people.
The victim died on her way to Mutare General Hospital.
A police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused person.
