Grace Mugabe’s son, Goreraza in US$7K maintenance arrears

Former First Lady, Grace Mugabe’s son Russel Goreraza has been brought before the court for defaulting maintenance of over US$7 000.

The 40-year-old was arraigned before the Concession Magistrates’ Court.

He was facing charges of contravening Section 23 of the Maintenance Act Chapter 05:09 “failing to comply with maintenance order”.

It is the State’s case that on January 4, Goreraza appeared before the Concession Magistrates Court.

He was ordered to pay US$2500 or ZWL equivalent at the prevailing inter-bank rate per month as maintenance for his child.

He allegedly defaulted payment from January to March 2024.

He owes US$7 500 as of March, 31, 2024.

The accused person who appeared as a self-actor requested for a postponement to seek legal representation.

And the matter was remanded to May 28, 2024.
