Zimbabwe has exported an estimated 138.25 million kilograms of tobacco valued at US$791.85 million at an average export price of US$5.73 per kilogramme.
Speaking during this Tuesday’s Post-Cabinet, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Zhemu Soda, said, tobacco production has continued to scale new heights, with a total of 358.4 million kilogrammes having been sold as of August 18, 2026, at an average price of US$2.49 per kilogramme.
“This reflects a 1 percent increase in volume from 354 million kilogrammes in 2025, which was sold at an average price of US$3.32 per kilogramme.
“Tobacco exports remain firm, with cumulative tobacco exports as at 19th August, 2026 reaching 138.25 million kilogrammes valued at US$791.85 million at an average export price of US$5.73 per kilogramme.
“This represents a 39 percent increase in export volume and a 4 percent increase in average price when compared to the corresponding period in 2025.”
