Three people drowned after the vehicle they were travelling in was swept away by the floodwaters after the driver attempted to cross a flooded river.
The ZRP confirmed the tragic incident in which three people lost their lives after a Ford Ranger Wildtrak was swept away.
The driver was attempting to cross flooded Nyanyange River at a bridge along Mashava–Downlands Road, Gweru, on March 3.
The driver of the vehicle managed to swim to safety while three passengers drowned.
The bodies of the victims were retrieved on March 4 and taken to Mvuma Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
