In a statement, the organisation said:

“The new regulations under, Statutory Instrument I. 13 of 2025 are a step towards ensuring that all children regardless of their background or circumstances have access to quality education.

“These regulations mark a significant step towards ensuring that all children, regardless of their background or circumstances, have access to quality education.

“As Shamwari Yemwanasikana we applaud the government for taking these bold steps towards creating a more inclusive and supportive education system.

“These regulations demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

“We commend the government for taking this significant step towards promoting inclusive and equitable education.

“This policy aligns with our organization’s mission to empower girls and promote their rights, particularly in education.

“As a result of this development, we expect to see increased access to education for marginalized children, improved educational outcomes, and a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.”

Shamwari Yemwanasikana said they look forward to working with different stakeholders.

“We want to work with government, educators, and communities to ensure the successful implementation of these regulations and to promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and support in our schools.

“We anticipate that these regulations will contribute to a reduction in dropout rates particularly among girls, and will help to promote gender equality in education.”
