Eight months after ZimdailyJournal broke that the Sports and Recreation Commission director-general Eltah Nengoshama had become a problem to other workers, the commission has finally suspended her.
Nengomasha has been suspended amid revelations that she is due to face a disciplinary hearing at the sports regulatory body.
SRC board chairman Gerald Mlotshwa however, confirmed the suspension in a brief statement.
“Please take note that pending the finalisation of a Hearing, the Director-General of the SRC has been suspended.
“Mr Sebastian Garikai will assume the role of Director-General in an Acting capacity until further notice,’’ read the statement.
However, as we reported, in March concerns were raised about Nengomasha being involved in allegations of abuse and harassment.
Nengomasha was under the spotlight from sports associations, stakeholders, and some officials at the ministry.
Allegations leveled against her were that some employees were resigning since last year when she came into office.
