A Mt Darwin man reportedly set his ex-girlfriend’s house on fire after she had refused to be intimate with him.
Richard Skwambula (43) from Dramwin farm, Selous was brought before the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court facing a charge of attempted murder.
The state alleges that on May,10 at around 10 pm Richard visited the complainant who is his ex-girlfriend at home.
The two argued over US$D17.
He later requested to be intimate with the complainant and she refused.
This angered him before he threatened to burn down the complainant’s bedroom hut before leaving.
The following day he returned and set the complainant’s hut ablaze whilst she was still sleeping inside.
The complainant escaped from the inferno unhurt.
He was remanded in custody on June 3 for his case.
