YOUTHS in Dzivaresekwa are celebrating Zimbabwe’s independence through fighting drugs and early marriages.
The youths are targeting to spearhead the initiatives throughout all the provinces ahead of the country’s 44th independence celebrations.
Spokesperson of the organisation Prophet BT Chikomo, said they were working with all stakeholders including the deputy minister.
“We have received a positive response from our deputy minister of youths and other stakeholders who are willing to partner with us.
“The idea is to teach the young people about Great Zimbabwe.
“We are moving towards independence and our word to the youths is that they need to stay away from drugs so that the future of this country can be entrusted in their hands.
“Through these initiatives, we are encouraging them to stop GBV as well as advocating for the elimination of early marriages.”
“If we have a directionless youth, the country can be in the wrong hands.
“We are bringing the patriotic youths who embrace the ideology of their country.
“We want to define the real meaning of our national colours.”
Popularly known as Commander, Chikomo said, the campaign would get to every corner of the country.
“We are spearheading this campaign across the divide, musicians, martial arts, boxing.
“It’s a war against drugs, we have real issues on the ground, and Team Flag we can win this war.”
