Winky D’s strong message against drug abuse

Highly rated ghetto president, Winky D has brought the same message against drugs he announced in 2013.

Winky D released the song Mafira Kureva 11 years ago and he received a backlash from some sections of the ghetto youths while some embraced it.

WinkyD's message against drug abuse

The song has a positive anti-drug abuse message.

On Sunday, while performing at the recent two musical gigs at Sunshine City Festival at Old Hararians Sports Club, Winky D remained solid on his message against drugs.

“Back in 2013, I called against drug abuse, and I was facing backlash from the consumers of music and fellow artists.

“But now we are in 2024, everybody is talking about drug abuse, why, because it fashionable to say right now, but then it has repercussions, so everybody wants to be in a safe corner,

So today in 2024 I stand for something even if it’s not fashion, that is what I stand for, and that is what I believe

I am not provoking anyone, not at all but you see one thing, watch them ten years from now, that is what they are going to be representing.

So, we will always see from a distance, we are bomboclat miles away.”

He then plunged into his 2013 song, Mafira Kureva.

“Kusvika rinira rinhi miromo isingataure

“Nhasi ndofira kureva.”

The event was hosted by Tamba Events under Braai Out ZW which saw top local acts illuminating Harare’s nightlife.

Some of the country’s top musical acts, Jah Prayzah, ExQ, Mookomba, Bazooker, Garry B, Jah Signal, Chillspot, Killer T, Selmor Mtukudzu, Master H, Bling 4, and Etherton among others entertained revellers.
