…as Ministers Kazembe, Magomo implicated in the arrest of party member
The fight over control of Mazowe Mine is not looking good.
The case which has been before the courts is now turning into targeting of individuals by the Home Affairs Minister Kazembe.
The minister is being accused of influencing some court procedures since he is also interested in the mining claims.
A recent court order brought everything to a standstill.
However, a new twist is implicating Minister Kazembe and Mashonaland State Minister Magomo to be part of a cartel that pushed the arrest of Knowledge Rutavi over a phone call conversation where the minister’s name was mentioned.
The matter was reported at Mazowe Police Station under CR 173/03/24 for cyberbullying.
The arrest has caused instability in the area where the minister is accused of abusing office.
It is alleged on March 29, at around 1 pm, Knowledge Rutavi was summoned to Mazowe Police Station through a phone call from security details.
It is reported that he was not informed or hinted at the issue and he called his Chairman A Phiri about the development.
Further allegations while at the station upon insisting on why the police were recording his details without giving a clue that is when he was informed that one Rodreck Nyikadzino had raised a complaint against him on Cyber Bullying allegations.
The allegations were against the Mashonaland State Minister Magomo and Minister of Home Affairs, Kazembe Kazembe.
The case is that Rodreck was the informant to clear their names on issues about Mazowe Mine. According to the report, the instruction was to detain Rutavi as the complainant was not even there neither was the informant.
He was then later referred to CID Bindura and upon primary investigation, the investigation officer had
“What surprises us is how can the accused be detained in the absence of the complainant and informant/
“It appears the Home Affairs Minister was at play because the details allayed fears from him.
“The details of investigation officers clearly showed that there was no magnitude of the case and the complainant Hon Magomo and Hon Kazembe Kazembe are not there and that includes the informant Nyikadzino.
“The cartel is trying to suppress the applicants through abuse of office by the minister.
“The accused was then taken to court and the police were trying to make sure the bail was opposed.
“From the court deliberations so far, it has come out through the prosecutor that an instruction to detail Rutavi was communicated.”
