The Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYCZ) has urged young people to move from dialogue to implementation.
This was revealed by ZYCZ Chief Executive Officer, Brian Nyagwande during the opening of the Young people attending the The Youth Collective Action for Social Transformation (YCA4SoTra) Indaba in Harare.
The European Union funded project launched in August 2024 aimed at strengthening the capacity, sustainability, and policy influence of youth-led and youth-focused associations in Zimbabwe.
“We have worked to strengthen your governance structures, refine your advocate strategies, and secure your sustainability.
“And most importantly, through our provincial engagements, we have listened.
“We heard about the dreams that you fuel and the barriers that frustrate you.
“We listened as you spoke about unemployment and economic exclusion.
We heard your agent calls to the climate action.
We understood the complexities of digital exclusion,” he said.
Nyangwande further said, these engagements were not just meetings, but a vital reality check.
“They proved that young people hold the deepest knowledge of our community challenges and more importantly possess the most innovative solutions.
“This is now Youth Indaba, it is the culmination of that dialogue.
“It is the moment where we move from listening to action.
“It is the bridge that connects the powerful voices from our provinces with the corridors of power.”
