Several people who are attending The Youth Collective Action for Social Transformation (YCA4SoTra) Indaba have been called to make real impact.
The Indaba is being held in Harare.
The European Union funded project launched in August 2024 aimed at strengthening the capacity, sustainability, and policy influence of youth-led and youth-focused associations in Zimbabwe.
The project is implemented by Students and Youth Working on Reproductive Health Action Team (SAYWHAT) and the Women’s Institute for Leadership Development (WILD), with technical support from Save the Children.
Young people in Zimbabwe continue to experience challenges related to unemployment, limited access to economic opportunities, climate change vulnerabilities, digital exclusion, health and wellbeing challenges, and limited participation in decision-making spaces. While various platforms exist for youth engagement, many young people and youth-led organizations continue to experience challenges in effectively influencing policies and holding duty bearers accountable.
Emerging Youth associations, particularly grassroots organizations, often lack adequate resources, institutional capacity and sustained platforms to amplify community-level issues into national conversations.
