Presidential Investment Advisor Dr Paul Tungwarara continues to do the unthinkable after he sacrificed his own assets, including a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series, to bring a sworn government critic to the negotiating table.
Rutendo Matinyarare, who had been leveling unproven but damaging accusations against President Mnangagwa, was offered the vehicle as a “first condition” for dialogue.
To nearly everyone’s surprise, he accepted.
Dr Tungwarara’s response was not bitterness, but praise, where he commended Matinyarare for showing “the right mental attitude” and “real commitment to this country and President Mnangagwa.”
Ordinary citizens and analysts have also heaped praise on Tungwarara’s humility.
“Here is a man with presidential access, and he gives away his own luxury car for peace.
“That is not weakness. That is strength of character,” said Harare resident Progress Dube.
Matinyarare will send his brother or father to collect the vehicle this week after arranging insurance and a chrome cover.
Tungwarara’s gesture is already being called a masterclass in turning enemies into partners—not with force, but with sacrificial generosity.
