Passengers travelling with Fastjet to Johannesburg this evening have expressed frustrations over a flight delay that left them waiting for hours, with the airline allegedly giving conflicting explanations for the delay.

The passengers left for the destination this evening.
According to one passenger, the flight scheduled for 16:30, had still not departed, with passengers initially being told that the crew had not yet arrived.
“We have been delayed since 16:30, and all this while they were saying the crew isn’t here yet. Now they are saying the plane didn’t have fuel,” the passenger said.
The passenger said airline staff only began addressing those waiting at around 17:30, after passengers started shouting and demanding answers.
Another passenger alleged that the situation escalated when those affected began voicing their concerns, claiming they were threatened with riot police.
“They even threatened to call the riot on us after we started speaking up,” the passenger said.
The incident has raised concerns over communication with passengers during delays, particularly when travellers are left waiting without clear and consistent information.
