The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, Engineer Tafadzwa Muguti, has ordered vendors that, with immediate effect, vendors should operate within time frames.
He was speaking during a press conference on Thursday.

“With immediate effect, vending within all central business districts is now limited between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“Between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., that is, vending within any business district, that is, across all 92 local authorities.
“Vending within the residential communities will then be allowed from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“After 6 p.m. we don’t expect to see anyone doing vending within any business district, and after 8 p.m. we don’t expect to see any vending within residential communities.
“That includes the high-density suburbs, and so that is in line also with business permits, big shops which are operating, rating, anything which is going across.
“I think the business permit ends at 8 pm. So from after 8 pm, you will find that you are less your business life can save otherwise.
“But according to this, any vending places or anyone who’s doing any trading, after 6 pm, we do not want to see any of those who have been allowed to do vending within designated places.
“And this applies countrywide.
“We hope that we will see more and more of you as we deliberate.
“We have got 118 bylaws that are being modified currently to suit the current trajectory of Vision 2030, and we are working day and night.”
