Four people died after a kombi, which was carrying 22 passengers, was involved in a head-on collision with a haulage truck.
This was confirmed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police in a statement.
“The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on July 12 at around 2345 hours at the 73-kilometre peg along Mvuma–Gweru Road.
“A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter kombi which was carrying 22 passengers was involved in a head-on collision with a DAF CF85 haulage truck which had no passengers on board.
“Subsequently, four people died on the spot while seven others were injured.
“The bodies of the victims were taken to Mvuma District Hospital mortuary for post-mortem while the injured were admitted at the same hospital.”
