Three artisanal miners at Temstan Mine, in Chegutu, died after they were crushed by a boulder that fell on them.
According to a police report, the miners were prospecting for gold in a 100-metre-deep vertical shaft.
“The ZRP reports a tragic incident which occurred at Temstan Mine, Pickstone, Chegutu, on May 6, in which the three lost their lives.
“The boulder fell on them.
“The bodies of the victims were retrieved and taken to Chegutu District Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.”
