There was drama at Rotten Row Magistrates’ Court after a suspected inmate stabbed a prison officer before undressing, cuffed him and disappeared in a prison uniform.
The prisoner named Itai Madhongo (33) was serving 45 years in prison for multiple convictions of rape and robbery.
After the escape, the Harare Magistrates’ Court was closed to the public while police and prison officers investigated.
The manhunt is ongoing.
