Armed Chinese cause havoc in Guruve

…attacks Miners for ED members

Some armed Chinese ran havoc on Sunday morning where they attacked members of the Miners for ED in Impinge area of Guruve.

Scenes from the site

Armed with stones, machetes, bayonets, and a gun, the Chinese attacked unarmed members who were operating at their mining site.

During the attack

It is alleged that the Chinese invaded the area despite a protection order barring them from entering.

The mining claim is owned by businessman and National Secretary for Welfare and Disaster Management for Miners for ED, Wilfred Mboma.

Mboma has since filed for an order barring San He Zimbabwe Private Limited from carrying out operations in the area.

The case is being heard under case number HCH 4559/25, where San of Tenenge Farm, Impinge Guruve, is being barred.

Mboma is using San He, his director, Qiao Chongnan, and the police for contempt of court.

He argues that the first and second respondents should each be ordered to pay a fine of US$3,000.

He also urged the court to order the respondents to purge their contempt by complying with the court order granted in favor of the applicant under Case No. HCH 4559/25 upon granting this order.

On September 11, Mboma filed a motion for interdictory relief under Case No. HCH/25, barring the first and second respondents from conducting any mining operations at the mining location pending the finalisation of a mining dispute before the Mining Commissioner for the Province of Mashonaland Central.

His staff were stoned and stabbed.

One of them is in the Intensive Care Unit, while another is also admitted.

A witness said that had it not been for the discipline shown by Cde Wilfred Mboma, it could have been a disaster.

“Cde Mboma was disciplined, and these Chinese came armed; they had planned the attack.

“The worst part was that they attacked people who had nothing to defend themselves.

“Surprisingly, the police are claiming that it was a public violence incident and are charging both the attackers and the attacked.

“What does this mean for the law?

“I am sure these police officers are being paid by the Chinese to allow them to do whatever they want in the area.”

Another witness expressed suspicion that the Chinese are using the name of the First Family to carry out illegal deals.

“The Chinese were four, along with two black men, and they attacked people and cars.

“Some of the cars are parked at the police station. We had to respect them; otherwise, there would have been dire consequences.

“These Chinese have been provoking us, and their gang leader is Sun.

“They were never arrested, and now the charge is public violence. We never participated in the violence; imagine if these guys had weapons, it would have been a war.”

Another witness stated that the area is a stronghold for Zanu PF and criticized how the youths are treated by the Chinese.

“This area is the stronghold of Zanu PF, and these Chinese want to tarnish the name of the President by doing name-dropping.

“We love our president, but this behavior from the Chinese is not acceptable.

“We want our youths to enjoy the benefits of their party and the leadership of the President.”
