Man jailed 25 years for fatal stabbing in Kadoma

A Kadoma man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after he brutally stabbed and killed a fellow villager following a heated confrontation over alleged infidelity.

He appeared before the Chinhoyi High Court.

The fatal incident occurred on July 21 last year, around 2 pm at Waverly bus stop.

Tinashe Mvura, of Chiname was with his brother Emmanuel and friend Paul Ruzive, waiting for transport when the now-deceased arrived and greeted everyone.

Instead of returning the greeting, the offender expressed clear hostility, prompting his brother to reprimand him.

They all boarded the same vehicle to Chiname Business Centre.

Upon arrival, the now-deceased exited the car first.

The offender followed, grabbed him by the collar, and accused him of having affairs with married women.

The now-deceased ran away and the offender gave chase, caught up with the deceased after about a few metres, pulled out a flick knife, and stabbed him twice in the back.

When the now-deceased fell, the offender stabbed him again in the chest.

He tried to flee but collapsed a few metres away and died shortly after.

The offender fled the scene. He was ferried to Donnain Clinic where he was pronounced dead.

A police report was made, leading to his arrest on April 22, following investigations.
