Harare, Zimbabwe – The Zim Community Trailblazers Awards (ZCTA) Hall of Fame is set to become a hub of community engagement, knowledge sharing, and innovation, thanks to a range of exciting new initiatives to be rolled out next year by the organisers.
The rebranded ZCTA Hall of Fame will be launched at a glittering celebratory fifth edition at the upmarket Harare International Conference Centre slated for January 31, 2025.
Running under the theme ‘Promoting a Legacy of Excellence in the Community,’ the Hall of Fame will begin by honouring 15 outstanding trailblazers who have continued to blaze the trail in their respective fields.
The Hall of Fame, which recognises and celebrates individuals and organisations making a profound impact in their communities, is launching a mentorship programme, community engagement projects, knowledge-sharing platforms, and capacity-building initiatives.
“We are absolutely thrilled to launch these innovative initiatives, which will take the Zim Community Trailblazers Awards Hall of Fame to the next level.
“Our goal is to create a vibrant and supportive community that celebrates excellence, fosters collaboration, and drives positive change.
“We believe that by working together, we can achieve great things and make a lasting impact on our communities, said Albert Masaka one of the ZCTA organisers.
Masaka said the mentorship programme will pair Hall of Fame inductees with emerging leaders and young individuals, providing guidance, support, and valuable insights.
“Community engagement projects will bring together inductees, community members, and stakeholders to tackle pressing community issues and develop innovative solutions.
“These are not unchartered waters, past award winners such as Dr Nigel Chanakira who is our board chairman and Dr Johaness Marisa, a board member have capacitated us to do more for our communities,” he added.
A digital archive and publication will showcase the stories, experiences, and lessons learned from Hall of Fame inductees, while expert talks, webinars, and online courses will provide opportunities for knowledge sharing and skills development.
Masaka said the capacity-building programmes will focus on topics such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development, while community impact assessments will measure the impact of Hall of Fame inductees on their communities.
“These initiatives will not only enhance the Zim Community Trailblazers Awards Hall of Fame but also contribute to the growth and development of our communities.”
The Zim Community Trailblazers Awards Hall of Fame is set to become a vibrant and functional entity that celebrates excellence, fosters community engagement, and drives positive change.
