Six people have died in two separate road accidents which occurred along the Bulawayo Victoria Falls and Harare Bulawayo roads on Tuesday.
On the Bulawayo Victoria Falls Road, national police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said a motorist who was driving a Mazda T35 truck carrying 29 passengers, who were congregants of an apostolic church, allegedly lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road before crashing into the river bank.
He said four passengers died on the spot, while 12 others sustained injuries.
In the second accident, Commissioner Nyathi said, a motorist who was driving a Honda Fit carrying seven passengers was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Hilux.
As a result of the collision, the Honda Fit veered off the road, overturned and landed on its roof. two of the four passengers in the Honda fit who had sustained severe injuries died upon admission at Kadoma General Hospital.
