Police have identified nine victims who died after a bus collided with a goods train at a rail-level crossing along Mbizi Road, in Triangle, on Tuesday, in an accident that saw 29 others injured.
In a statement, national police Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the victims have been identified by their next of kin, and they include:

Knowledge Chivava, a male adult of Village D, Section 64, Triangle, Shepard Shumba, aged 18, a male adult of house number 40, Section 64, Triangle; Maria Hlabwani, aged 40, a female adult of Village 3, Nyahombe, Tinashe Mushindi, aged 18, of Section 65, Triangle, Chinguvo Lucia, aged 49, a female adult from Mapepa Area; and Learnmore Mutize, aged two, a male infant of section 63, Triangle.
Commissioner Nyathi said the names of the other three victims who perished will be released in due course after the victims have been identified by their next of kin.
