She bared her soul that she is bleeding from inside on how young people are perishing at the expense of drugs.

This is ZAOGA Forward in Faith’s call to unite against the scourge of drugs.

She was speaking on the sidelines of Archbishop Guti Day, Archbishop Ezekiel Guti Walkathon held on Saturday at Gange Christian School.

The event marked the church’s continuous upholding of the late Archbishop’s legacy.

Dr Eunor said the fight against drug abuse will be won if all people unite, including those who believe in God.

“We, the parents, are the people who are supposed to watch our children.

“The people who encourage the use of drugs are the ones who do not think about themselves, and they do not think about the future because they think only of getting money from drugs.

“So, they will send the children to sell drugs and sometimes to give them a taste of the drugs.

“In the end, they become people who are drug addicts,” she said.
Dr Eunor said it is a pity that those who chase money are giving young people drugs to go and sell, only for the young people to end up consuming the drugs themselves.
“They will really go into it, and we will lose the nation, as we will have people who are always on the roads.
“If we do not work together to stop those who are selling or giving drugs to children to sell, we will not have a nation, because this generation will be finished.
“It is my call to those who are children of God, and to the churches to stand and fight this drug abuse.”
She added that there is a need to preserve the pride of this nation.
“If we do not work together, the coming generation will behave the same, which is not good.
“This country is regarded as the most educated people but we have allowed drugs to flourish.
“It’s a cry because as we celebrate this legacy, there are so many children here, so that they grow in the right way.
“We are working on a rehabilitation programme that will accommodate the victims, and we will be teaching about God to them, since He is the only one who can save the generation.
“This legacy is to say that Dr Guti taught us good behaviour, and he set his legacy for the next generation.
“We want the young people to see good things from this legacy, so that it is passed on to the next generation.
“So, this legacy that we are celebrating is meant to remind people of the way Ezekiel Guti walked and the way he worked hard day and night among the young people to bring awareness to them, and to help them walk on the right path.
“The best thing is to receive Jesus as your personal Saviour, because He is the only one who can guide your life.”
Heir to the church, Archbishop Joel Guti, said that the day was pronounced by the church that every 5th of May, the life of Baba Guti is celebrated.
“We agreed as the church that we should celebrate him.
“He was born May 5, 1923, and he lived up to 100 years.
“So as a church, we continue to celebrate his impact in all sectors of society.
“The transformation that people experienced through his teachings.
“Every year, we remember the man who lived a life of fearing God, he was the role model, a man who lived a righteous life, as well as fellowshipping.
“We are doing so much as a church, we are constructing a centre for rehabilitation, one for ex-prisoners, one for those who are coming from the effects of drugs.
“There is nothing more effective than the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Director of the Ezekiel Guti Day, Courage Mashavave, said that, apart from honouring Professor Guti’s legacy, they also want to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth.
“From the research, being active helps young people to be more focused, health-conscious, and, most importantly, to leave harmful activities like drugs,” he said.
