ZERA reduces fuel prices

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has effected a reduction in fuel prices with immediate effect.

In a statement, ZERA said the petroleum prices are effective immediately.

Diesel (50) is now at US$2.09 while Blend (E20) US$2.08

“Since the last few months when volatility of fuel supply began, Government prioritised security of supplies through market sensitive pricing and reduction of taxes to cushion consumers and the economy at large.

“The price of blend has also been reduced by the significant increase in the blending levels from E5 to E20.

“Government will continue with this thrust, therefore various mechanisms to ensure minimal impact to the economy as well as guaranteeing continuity of supply will be vigorously pursued.

“Members of the public are advised not to engage in any panic buying or hoarding as the country is assured of adequate stocks for a period spanning over 3 months.

“On its part, the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority will closely monitor the situation and take the necessary steps in the 2 weeks within which the prices are effective.”
