Dynamo’s underrated striker Jairos Kasondo eyes second season with Dynamos as contract deadline looms.
The underappreciated 26-year-old was the top goal-scorer at Dynamos last season.

Despite being a top goal-scorer, Dynamos almost got relegated, with the last match of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League deciding their fate.

Born in Banket, Mashonaland West Province, where it’s really hard to be noticed, Kasondo found his way against all odds.
Kasondo made his professional debut for Ominia FC, a Division 2 team in Banket.
From there, Kasondo moved to Banket United FC in Division 1, where he played for half a decade and was the top goal-scorer for five years.
Kasindo was also the second-best goal-scorer in the Northern Region Soccer League in 2016 and 2017.
In 2022, Kasondo joined Pam FC on a two-year contract and was again the top goal-scorer for two years.
Kasondo joined Dynamos in 2025 on a two-year contract expiring at the end of 2026.
“I am the person I believe I am, and I am determined about what I want,” Kasondo said, highlighting his goal-scoring abilities.
“I have always wanted to play for a big team in Zimbabwe, and my dreams came true because playing for Dynamos is one of my biggest achievements as a professional footballer.
Kasindo shared his sentiments on Dynamos relegation battle.”
“Last season was survival of the fittest, and we couldn’t convert some chances to score goals for almost half the season.
“We almost got punished for that.”
Kasondo further said that he, he at some point, lost hope.
“I almost lost hope, but we turned the tables and played six games unbeaten, yet
remained stagnant near the bottom of the log table.”
Under Zambian coach Kelvin Kaindu, Kasondo got game time halfway through the season and shone.
Kasondo netted four goals, including openers against Kwekwe United and Green Fuel, a goal in the
Harare Derby, and an equalizer against Highlanders FC.
Despite challenges, Kasondo stood tall, commuting from Banket to Harare (96km) for training.
Heroes can come from anywhere, and Kasondo deserves his flowers and the hype.
