Guruve serial murder suspect Zvitsva pleads guilty to 10 murder cases

Guruve serial murder suspect Anymore Zvitsva (35), who allegedly terrorised Guruve between October and December 2025, has pleaded guilty to 10 counts, including rape, attempted murder and robbery.

He is expected back in court tomorrow for pre-sentence hearing.

Zvitsva is accused of a calculated and brutal pattern of behaviour where he targeted vulnerable individuals, often using weapons and snare wire to subdue his victims.

Victims include a 14-year-old juvenile and a 62-year-old woman.

In multiple instances, he allegedly tied the victims with wire or shoelaces and dragged them into mountains or bushes to commit the acts.

The accused is linked to five counts of attempted murder where he is accused of stabbing victims in the neck, chest and abdomen with knives and spears, as well as strangling victims using snare wires until they lost consciousness.

Zvitsva also allegedly broke into homes at night, sometimes wearing a balaclava to attack sleeping families. In one robbery.

He used a machete to strike a man before stealing a cigarette lighter.

The reign of terror ended on the 3rd of January 2026, when the accused person was arrested.

He led the police to various crime scenes for indications, including the recovery of a victim’s red t-shirt hidden under a log at an anthill.

Meanwhile, the accused person is awaiting indictment to the High Court for several murder charges committed in the Guruve area during the same period.

These are grave offences committed with extreme cruelty, and the justice system remains committed to ensuring the safety of the Guruve community.
