Police have busted a drug peddling syndicate comprising 11 suspects, including both men and women, who were arrested while allegedly trafficking approximately 200 kilogrammes of dagga and other illicit substances.
According to National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, some of the suspects are hiding the drugs inside coffins and blankets.
Some are even spraying perfumes to avoid smell.
The suspects were intercepted while travelling from Beitbridge, with the contraband cleverly packaged in a manner meant to resemble blankets in order to evade detection.

During the operation, police also confiscated unregistered medicines found in the suspects’ possession.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police reiterates that there is no going back in the fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse, and warns that all individuals involved in the illegal production, transportation and distribution of drugs will be arrested and brought before the courts.
