United Kingdom-based doctoral researcher Abel Mavura has been awarded the prestigious Clutton-Brock Cambridge Studentship to pursue an MPhil/PhD in Architecture and Urban Studies at the University of Cambridge, starting in October 2025.
A few weeks ago, he became the first African doctoral researcher to receive the Margaret Mead Memorial Award, presented by the International Society for the Systems Sciences and the International Federation for Systems Research (ISSSIFSR).
This honour recognises his pioneering work on migrant resilience and systems thinking.
Mavura will also receive the Zimbabwe Global Achievers Award later this year for his outstanding contributions as part of the diaspora.
These milestones reflect not only Abel’s dedication to academic excellence, but also the enduring legacy of the Clutton-Brock scholarship and the strength of UK–Zimbabwe academic collaboration.
