A Zvishavane man has been arrested after he allegedly killed his six-year-old niece after she failed to write her name.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Takudzwa Wellington Chimutsa (28) was arrested in connection with a murder case which occurred at Koisvoro Village, Zvishavane, on January 18.
The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim after she failed to write her name.
Following the assault, the victim’s condition deteriorated, prompting the suspect to seek spiritual guidance from a local prophet who advised them to return home.
The suspect later took the victim to Zvishavane District Hospital, where she died upon admission.
Meanwhile, the ZRP is investigating another murder case in which Anyway Mangirazi (36) allegedly killed his mother-in-law, Beatrice Tarumbera (75) on January 20, at Chifamba Village, Tengwe.
The suspect was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute with his wife, who is the victim’s daughter
